Solar heating with sub-surface energy conservation

This is the largest project in the current CatchSolar portfolio. Solar heat will be stored in the ground in a cylindrical rock volume to be charged through 28 wells. The heat storage will be used as a reservoir for heat pumps, and the elevated temperature in the heat storage will increase the efficiency of the heat pumps. A combination of flat solar collectors and vacuum tubes is currently being be installed on 440 square meters of existing roof facades in order to charge the energy storage facility.

The project has received support from Enova.
